Middle School Congress
The OMSD Middle School Congress is a leadership initiative designed to bring student voices directly into the district’s decision-making process. Each year, representatives from each of the comprehensive middle and K-8 schools come together to serve as ambassadors for their peers and collaborators in our district’s growth.
The Congress allows students to dive into the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), learning how district goals and funding are structured to support student learning and engagement. Students also provide vital input and offer their unique perspectives to help shape the programs and services that impact their daily educational experience. Following the Congress, these student leaders return to their home campuses to facilitate the Student Thought Exchange, ensuring that the collective voice of our entire middle school population is heard and valued.
