The OMSD Family and Community Engagement Department (FCE) provides a systematic approach to increase family and community engagement with equitable opportunities for all. Our focus is centered on supporting the child as a whole. With an urgency to address early literacy and to equip our parents with the tools to support the academic growth of our children at the earliest possible age, FCE will partner-with all OMSD schools, high schools, colleges/universities, organizations and the community to educate and support all parents. 

The Parent Education Center will provide professional development on:

• Multitiered intervention and enrichment opportunities offered to all OMSD students. 
• High school, college and post-secondary awareness.
• Learning opportunities for cultural responsiveness and inclusivity. 
• Financial Literacy

As a FCE support team, we will ensure students and families experience success by supporting in areas that pose challenges and barriers by working with each site's needs. Each of our schools have a full-time Outreach Consultant to serve as a liaison between home and school, connecting our parents/families to the many resources offered serving our department as an additional layer for communication with parents.
