2018 Silver Schools: Corona, Del Norte, Haynes, Kingsley, and Sultana Elementary Schools.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Research shows that schools’ climate strongly influences students' motivation to learn and improve academic achievement. When school members feel safe, valued, cared for, respected, and engaged, learning increases. Essentially, a positive school climate provides the foundation on which instruction will occur and all students will learn, therefore, the implementation of positive behavior intervention techniques is paramount for our schools’ and students’ success.
