Bank of America awards Promise Scholars the 2018 Neighborhood Builders Award
Promise Scholars awarded the 2018 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award
At a recent OMSD Board of Trustees Meeting, Bank of America made a surprise announcement that Promise Scholars has been named the 2018 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders award recipient for the Inland Empire. As part of the award, Promise Scholars will receive $200,000 in unrestricted grant to pilot a new Community College Ambassador program aimed at helping students in the Ontario-Montclair School District and their families planning, preparing, enrolling, and then succeeding at regional colleges. Ontario-Montclair is one of 49 communities across the nation selected to receive this Neighborhood Builders award in 2018. The award also includes training and support to the leader of the program and young emerging leader in the organization.
As part of highlighting their commitment to our students, Bank of America officials also visited Wiltsey Middle School as part of the 6thGrade Promise Scholars Business Leaders college and career presentations. Bank of America understands that it takes more than an investment of money, it takes a long-term commitment to a community which is seen in the many Bank of America volunteers who serving as role models for our students through Promise Scholars.
