Dear Buena Vista Families and Friends,

It is an honor to serve as the principal of Buena Vista Arts-Integrated Magnet School for the 2022-2023 school year. I am excited that I have this opportunity to serve the children, parents and all stakeholders within the Buena Vista Arts-Integrated Magnet School community. In 2001, I entered my educational career as a certificated substitute in the Ontario-Montclair School District. Since then, I have continually sought various ways to impact the lives of students and their families in a meaningful way, as well as grow professionally as an educator. My experiences while serving as a Principal, as well as Elementary Administrator and Data Coach have afforded me the privilege to support the academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of students in multiple ways. Additionally, as a classroom teacher and Middle School Dean of Students in OMSD, I have experienced the positive impact of building meaningful relationships, encouraging personal and student leadership, and inspiring students to be their very best in their pursuit of their college and career aspirations.

Our mission at Buena Vista Arts-Integrated Magnet School is to guarantee high standards of excellence for scholars in an environment that promotes the arts. This will be achieved by providing a comprehensive standards based education in academics, dance, music, theater, media arts  and visual arts. Our school community will encourage individual student talents, creativity and passion, and their love of the arts. We remain committed to the development and implementation of a shared vision for academic achievement, social and emotional well-being for all students, school site initiatives and district initiatives to improve learning and teaching for all.

As we continue to navigate through unprecedented times since the COVID 19 pandemic, we will continue to make adjustments to keep everyone safe and support the health and wellness of everyone.
