Mr. Russ
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Lehigh Elementary, a No Excuses University school. As a No Excuses University school, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college. Lehigh exhibits a culture of universal achievement by believing in all of our students. The staff looks forward to working with parents and the community to ensure an academically productive school year for all our students.
All students will be taught Common Core State Standards. These standards will prepare students to enter a world in which colleges and businesses are demanding more than ever before. To ensure all students are ready for success after high school, the Common Core State Standards establish clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English language arts. We are excited about our rigorous standards-aligned curriculum that is taught alongside character and citizenship to ensure well-rounded students.
In addition to our rigorous Common Core curriculum, the staff is pleased to offer students positive behavior intervention systems (PBIS). We encourage all our students to demonstrate Respect, Responsibility, and Readiness to Learn on a daily basis. They have the opportunity to earn PAW tickets for following the three R’s. Once they accumulate enough PAW tickets they visit the Lehigh Student Store to purchase something of their choice. We believe in reinforcing good behavior, rather than correcting inappropriate behavior.
The staff at Lehigh is committed to exceptional standards and high levels of student success. We are on an unyielding path to high student achievement and social growth. Lehigh students have an equal opportunity to learn, and all students will receive a rich instructional program through which to grow socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. We also strive to ensure that each student’s strength is recognized, emphasized, and utilized.
The staff is excited and looking forward to cooperatively working with you toward academic and social excellence for students. With a commitment to continuing the growth of our students, it is important that we work cooperatively together. We thank you for your dedication in advance. We are looking forward to having an outstanding year!
Respectfully,
Mr. Russ, Principal
