• Dear Parents/Guardians,
    During the week of October 4th – 8th, all Serrano students will conduct a Student-Led Conference with their parents.  Students will present their current academic performance and will share their learning goals for this academic year.  This conference is an event your child has been planning, preparing and practicing for.  It is important that your child guide the conference process and communicate their goals to you. 
    Teachers will be reaching out to you this week to schedule a Zoom or Phone Conference with you if you child is getting a grade of a “D” or “F” or in danger of failing any class. It is very important that you attend the scheduled conference.  Parents of students not in danger of failing can request a conference by reaching out to your child’s teachers.
    Serrano students will be following a different daily schedule during Student-Led Conference week.

    IMPORTANT:  The schedule for the school day during Student-Led Conference week, October 4th – October 8th, will be from 8:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 
    Zoom/Phone Conferences with Teachers will take place during the following times:

    Monday, October 4th: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Tuesday, October 5th: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
    Wednesday, October 6th: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Thursday, October 7th: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Friday, October 8th: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m                                         


    Queridos Padres/Guardianes,
    Durante la semana del 4 de octubre al 8 de octubre, todos los estudiantes de Serrano conducirán una Conferencia dirigida por los estudiantes con sus padres en la escuela.  Los estudiantes presentarán su rendimiento académico actual y establecerán sus metas de aprendizaje para el año escolar. Esta conferencia es un evento que su hijo o hija ha estado planeando, preparando y practicando para ustedes.  Es importante que su hijo guie el procedimiento de la conferencia y le comunique su progreso. 
    Los maestros de su hijo/a se pondrán en comunicación con ustedes para planear una conferencia via ZOOM o por teléfono si su hijo/a ha recibido una “D” o “F” (reporte de progreso) o en riesgo de fallar una clase.  Es muy importante que ustedes acudan las conferencias de su hijo/a.  Padres de los niños que NO ESTAN EN RIESGO DE FALLAR pueden solicitar una conferencia con sus maestros.  Ustedes pueden comunicarse con los maestros por SchoolLoop para pedir una conferencia.
    Los estudiantes de Serrano tendrán un horario diferente para esta semana.
     
    IMPORTANTE:  El horario de clases durante la semana del 4 de octubre al 8 de Octubre será de 8:15 a.m. 1:00 p.m.
    Las Conferencias de ZOOM/Telefono seran durante los tiempos siguientes:

    Lunes, 4 de Octubre:  1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Martes, 5 de Octubre: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
    Miércoles, 6 de Octubre: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Jueves, 7 de Octubre: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.
    Viernes, 8 de Octubre: 1:15 – 3:00 p.m.

Homeless or In Transition Students (McKinney Vento Homeless Education Act)

  • All students considered homeless or in transition, includes students who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence, are afforded certain rights under the law:

    • Immediate enrollment, even if family lacks records normally required for enrollment
    • Placement in student’s school of origin, unless is against family’s wishes
    • Transportation to and from student’s school of origin
    • Free school meals
