Dear De Anza Community,

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of De Anza Middle School.  We are here to support the children and families of our surrounding community.  Our goal for every student is preparation for high school success as well as college and career readiness.  We believe that every student has the ability to achieve, and we will strive to help them do so.

We are very proud of our school and constantly strive to continue to grow in ways that will benefit our students and families.  De Anza Middle School is a state and national School to Watch, a Gold Ribbon School, a Title I Achieving School, and a PBIS Gold school.  In that past decade, we have been visited by educators across the state as a model middle school, the California Superintendent of Schools, our local elected officials, and in the Spring of 2022 we were visited by the United States Secretary of Education.  Visitors to our classroom are always impressed by our learning environment and instructional programs. 

At De Anza Middle School, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone can learn.  We do this through implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and numerous safety initiatives.  Our PBIS program involves establishing behavior expectations and making them clearly known to all students.  They are: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be a Person of Integrity.  Additional safety initiatives include:  Campus Safety Officer on site, video surveillance system across our campus, See Something Hear Something Say Something campaign, regular safety drills, and more.

Our doors are open to any parents or community members who wish to visit our school.  Parents and families, of course, are invited to all of our special events.  However, please contact us if you have an interest in visiting us during the instructional day!
