A proud alumnus of Sultana Elementary and Linda Vista Elementary. Mr. Kirk is currently the principal of Los Osos High School in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. Mr. Kirk has also served as the assistant principal of Los Osos High School, Dean of Students at Bonita High School in La Verne, CA, has taught middle and high school, and coached baseball, football and basketball. After graduating from Ontario High School, Mr. Kirk attended Southern University A&M in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on baseball and academic scholarships where he earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in education. Mr. Kirk was raised by his mother and stepfather in Pomona and Ontario, California, along with five siblings, and is the first in his family to attend college. Mr. Kirk attributes his decision to pursue a career in education to the guidance, support, and motivation he received from his teachers along his educational journey in OMSD. While in Louisiana, Mr. Kirk met his wife and is now the proud father of two children. Mr. Kirk continues to “pay it forward” every single day as an administrator, mentor and by proving himself as a leader dedicated to enhancing the learning environment for all children, capitalizing on individual student potential, exercising effective communication with staff, students, and parents, and by offering innovative behavior management initiatives. Today, Mr. Kirk dedicates his life to helping students realize their own potential and helps inspire a love of learning that will change students’ lives, much like OMSD changed his life. For these reasons, the Ontario-Montclair School District is proud to honor Mr. Joshua Kirk as a 2018 Model of Excellence. His commitment to excellence is evident through his relentless dedication to the community and serves as a role model for OMSD students, educators, parents, and community.
