A lifetime resident of the Ontario-Montclair community and attended Berlyn, Central, and Edison Elementary Schools, as well as Vina Danks Middle School. His favorite quote is by Henry Ford, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.” Mr. Delman’s grandfather was the previous owner of Logan’s Candies, and he remembers with fondness working in the candy store as a boy. As an Executive Board member of the Ontario Rotary Police Museum, Mr. Delman’s goal is to secure funding so the museum can remain open regular hours. Mr. Delman feels it is very important that today’s youth learn the history of their Police Department and also to honor those who have lost their lives protecting this community. Mr. Delman encourages students to be proud of who they are, to not be afraid of failure and to know that they are good enough and smart enough. For Mr. Delman excellence is being the best you can possibly be, the desire for success and having devotion to your craft. For these reasons, the Ontario-Montclair School District recognizes and celebrates Mr. Richard Delman as a 2014-2015 Model of Excellence. His commitment to service and excellence is certain to motivate and inspire current and future generations of OMSD students, educators, parents, and community members.
